CVR College of Engineering situated at Ibrahimpatnam, Rangareddy District focuses on imparting education through various streams such as civil engineering, computer science engineering, information technology, Electronics & Communication engineering and mechanical engineering. The admission criteria are slightly different for different departments but on an average they demand at least 50% in 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board. Other acceptable qualifying exams in all the programs offered under B.Tech include EAMCET, JEE Main, and Intermediate.
The civil engineering B.Tech program, computer science B.Tech program, and information technology B.Tech program admit students on the basis of national level examinations like JEE Main, EAMCET and the intermediate examinations. For the admission to the next academic year of the 2024, students will be selected based on the exams that are held in 2023 and they include JEE Main which is conducted twice in the year of January and April or May, EAMCET that is conducted in May, and the Intermediate exams that are conducted in March. The process of notifying the list of students selected for admission at the college begins in May every year after the release of exam results. There are two ways for students to apply: either through the college website or by obtaining the application forms and applying physically. Student enrollment is on merit list based on qualifying exams as per the norms of the university/college with set criteria. The admission procedure and all the requisite steps in detail with the exact time frame are stated on the college website every year before the admission process begins.

- A student will be admitted in this college based on their ranking in Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical (Pharmacy, Veterinary etc.) Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). It is a state level entrance examination conducted by JNTU Hyderabad at the entrance level.
- The minimum requirement for admission is intermediate (10+2) with compulsory subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Minimum aggregate percentage required in intermediate exam is 45% for OC/BC categories for admission into any course and 40% for SC/ST categories.
- Admissions are offered in accordance with the merit rank of the candidate in TS EAMCET entrance examination, branches/college choices, category of the candidate etc.
- There is seat allotment of 25% of total B.Tech seats under the state vocational category to the merit in vocational courses offered at Intermediate level.
- From the academic year 2019-20 some seats are reserved for the NCC & CAP (Children of Armed Personnel) category students. Selected candidates sit for a central counseling process through which they are posted to various institutions and awarded seats.
1. Admission notification for the respective college can be found in the college website or newspapers and the eligibility criteria have to be met. The common minimum eligibility norms for the post of section officer are 50% marks in 12th with maths as a subject.
2. After notices are out, apply online or pick up the application form from the college. For instance, you can apply for counseling like EAMCET.
3. The first step is to complete all fields in the application with appropriate information and documents such as 10th and 12th mark sheets, ID proof, etc.
4. The fees for the application are also to be paid online or through a demand draft which is to be attached to the form. The amount of such fees will be indicated in the notification.
5. It is also possible to apply online or deliver the application in person to the college by the deadline of the submission of the application. Ensure you get a receipt or an acknowledgment.
6. Students should also frequently visit college website so as to check merit list or the schedule of counseling. Go for counseling depending on your rank and the institutions you have in your list of choice.
7. The admission procedures when selected only involve submitting documents such as birth certificates and paying for admission fees.
- Selections are made depending on the performance of the candidates based on GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). To be eligible for participation in the program, candidates are required to have an active GATE score.
- For the purpose of admission into M.Tech programmes, the candidate should have passed B.Tech / B.E. or equivalent engineering degree with minimum 60 % of the marks in aggregate (55% in case of SC/ST candidates).
- The criteria of selection are merit-based as it considers the GATE exam scores of the candidate while recruiting. The percentage of the students to be selected increases with an increase in the GATE score achieved.
- For the GATE qualified candidates, the admission may also be given directly if there are any vacant seats left for the admission on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying degree examination.
- Rules for reservation norms for the candidates belonging to the reserved category are strictly adhered to as per the state government policies.
