Bengaluru City University (BCU) is a state university or a government university located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. BCU was established during the year 2020 and has now emerged as one of the largest universities present in the region. It has been accredited by the University Grants Commission recognised, National Assessment and Accreditation Council where the institute has been awarded B++ grade. BCU in the NIRF rankings of 2023 stood in the band 151-200 in relation to the universities in India.
BCU provides undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in the faculties such as, sciences, commerce, arts, education, law and engineering. Bengaluru City University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For the undergraduate program, candidates must pass the 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination by a recognized board with at least 50 percent aggregate marks.
2. For postgraduate programs, valid and recognized bachelor’s degree with not less than fifty percent aggregate score.
3. For MPhil and PhD, the student needs to have a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% of the marks and the entrance test.
4. This is the standard rule, that majority of reservation category students are given 5% relaxation in minimum marks criteria as per government rules and regulations.
Bengaluru City University Placements 2024
The Bengaluru City University has a functional placement cell, which is responsible for helping students find employment with the various companies that recruit from the college. Large organizations such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Deloitte and Cognito recruit employees or interns from this university. The maximum number of offers were of the highest salary package of Rs. 320000/- per annum by Microsoft in the 2024 placement. The salary offered across branches was on average of Rs. 6.5 lakh per annum through out the campus. About 84% of the students came out with placements through campus recruitments. The maximum number of offers was made by Infosys, next was Wipro and then Accenture came in third in the recruiters list.
