Jiwaji University has been located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh which provides various under graduate and post graduate courses in different fields like arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Law etc. The standard of admission may be different in different departments. The admission requirement for B.A programs is 12th in the same stream with not less than 50% aggregate for subjects such as English, economics history among others. B.Sc. for admission to B.Sc., specializations in physics, chemistry, zoology, botany the candidates should have passed 12th Science with a minimum aggregate of 55%. B.Com program requires minimum 55 % in 12 th commerce stream. For admission to the B.Ed program, the graduates having 50% marks are acceptable and for B.P.Ed, it is 45%. For the law programs such as LLB and LLM, one can apply upon passing with fifty percent marks. Civil, electrical, mechanical, computer science engineering streams requires candidates who have passed in 12th standard with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and maths. The qualifying examinations accepted are MP Board, CBSE, ICSE, Other state boards & National boards.
The University offers all programs in semester system In the following academic year; Important exams dates for admission in 2024 batch are: pre-Admission tests in May 2023, First admission list in June 2023. The application forms will be released in February 2023. The admission process does require online registration, department entrance test as per the norms of the respective department, counseling as per the entrance test or 12th standard marks and document submission. Program wise, the total fees of the institute varies between INR 5000 to INR 90000. There are some policies that are recurrent regarding the reservations that are in conformity with the MP state policies. Another opportunity for students is to seek scholarship grants. Some of the most preferred courses in Jiwaji University are B.Com, BA English, B.Sc in zoology, Botany and Chemistry, B.Tech in computer science and engineering, law courses and master degree courses in different faculties.
- Admission is normally advertised in May/June for its several degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Specific date may also differ depending on the specific program or course being taken.

Documents Required for Admission in JU Gwalior for Different Courses:
- M.Sc programs offered by the university require the candidate to take a test for getting admitted to the course. This test has to be taken on the basis of an application and an examination.
- In some cases, admission is based on the merit obtained in the qualifying exam such BSc instead of an entrance test.
- The entrance test is mostly in the form of multiple choices and tests a candidate’s ability in the subject, logical thinking, and information that is in the public domain. From the foregoing, it can be seen that the test format may differ from one department to another.
- After the test, they release merit lists for each department according to the combined score of the entrance test and the qualifying exam. Such eligibility criteria are determined at the department level depending on pass marks or cut-off marks.
- The final process of selection is on merit basis depending on the availability of the seats, and reservation policies from the government etc.
- In addition, academic performance is not the only criterion that needs to be met; a candidate must also meet the laid down requirements of any given M.Sc program. This involves such factors as course of study of the qualifying degree, the grades gotten among others.
The documents required at the time of application and counseling are as follows:
1. Open the homepage of Jiwaji University on the official website of the university( www.jiwaji.edu).
2. Under the “Admissions” heading, select ‘Postgraduate’ from the dropdown list.
3. Go to the M.Sc admission link that will lead to the admission online application link and click on it.
4. Now choose the M.Sc course of your choice – Zoology, Botany, Chemistry etc.
5. You will be able to fill the online application form. Thus, the participants are supposed to read the instructions and move forward to complete the form.
6. To apply, input all personal and academic information, attach necessary documents, and make an online payment for the fee if needed.
7. Paper preference must be made together with select subjects and the area of research in case it is required. Fill and submit the admission form for the PG course.
8. Do download a copy of the completed application form and take a printout of the status: submitted.
9. The printed application form should be post along with the relevant certificates before the last date given in the admission notification.
1. Performance in graduation – Candidates had passed the graduation examinations with at least 50% marks for the general category and 45% for SC/ST category. The percentage in graduation has more weightage since it leaves the candidate with a higher percentage.
2. UPSEE / MAT/ CAT/ XAT etc – The seats are filled after candidates write the exams such as UPSEE and others hence the higher scores such better positions in CAT or UPsee improve the chances of getting a seat.
3. Group Discussion and Personal Interview – As per steps 1 & 2, the candidates selected will appear for GD/PI. On these rounds, performance is assessed on communication ability as well as on the clarity of concepts and their understanding.
4. Selection criteria – There is additional weightage in selection with relevant work experience. Fresh candidates who have no prior experience in any industry may also apply.
5. Academic diversity – It is a preferred practice to admit students who come from different academic backgrounds to constitute an MBA batch.
