Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an exam that rather grades the transparent knowledge of diverse subjects of engineering and science at undergraduate level for admission to master’s courses and also in the organizations involving public sector. It is informed the GATE 2024 will be held in the first week or second week of February 2024. Two entities, the Indian Institute of Science and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology collaborating in alignment with the governing body of the National Coordination Board are the ones responsible for GATE and the vision sees many universities in India using the scores for admission to postgraduate programs. The format, schedule, enrolment criteria, and exam cities can be changed slightly in 2024, but the magnitude of these changes is expected to be rather insignificant. The expected date of the GATE 2024 results which are to be considered as tentative is March 2024.
The scoring is valid of three years since the results are declared. Almost 9 lac applicants appear annually for the GATE exam which is the world's most renowned and reputed engineering entrance examination. Many GATE qualified graduates in India secure job through public sector organizations with the score being considered for shortlisting of candidates. GATE, in that sense, assesses the capabilities of the candidates in their field-of-interest. Original candidate can be additionally considered for admission or employment by the department in which they have done their Engineering or Science.

1. Application & Enrollment
- In the year when the registration window is open, go to the GATE official website (gate.iitb.ac.in).
- Make an account of the new user on the website.
- Accomplish GATE Application Form with all required information correctly. Do not forget to double check on all forms of information.
2. Upload Documents
- Upload scanned copies of you photo, signature, certificates and category certificate (if applicable) only. Kindly ensure the file is in the required format.
3. Application Fee Payment
- Pay the application fee online using any of these effective modes- credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. The Fee fluctuates to accommodate different categories.
4. Download Application Form
- Print and save a hard copy of the thoroughly filled out application form after the payment.
5. Exam City Selection
- On logging in to GOAPS portal, choose your preferred exam city amongst available options. Students get allocation on first-come-first-serve basis.
6. Admit Card
- Visiting the website for the release of your GATE 2024 admit card is the best idea. Have a summary both on paper and on an electronic device for your use during the exam.
1. Valid Email ID and Phone Number: These information are the "contact details" that would be needed to register for the G.A.T.E application process. All ensuing correspondence will be made to this email ID and this phone number.
2. Scanned Photograph and Signature Image: The photo size as well as the file format should be color passport size and specified one for scanned signature within GATE application.
3. Degree Certificate/Completion Certificate: Students in their last year or after the completion of their degree need to attach their certificate of degree or course completion at their time of application.
4. Category Certificate (if applicable): Hard copies of one of the below certificates, i.e., SC, ST, OBC-NCL, or PWD certificates, in the prescribed format, should be uploaded at the time of application by candidates who require reservation.
5. Address Proof: A photo ID proof like Aadhar card, driving license, etc. may be used if it displays the permanent address and the correspondence address. This should be kept handy during form filling.
6. Educational Documents: In addition to this, I will be keeping documents ready relevant to all educational qualifications which I have completed or presently busy studying.
7. Scanned Images of Educational Documents (if required): An applicant might be expected to upload a scanned copy of his educational certificates, mark sheets, GATE scorecards, etc during the process of application if asked to do so.
8. NetBanking/Card Details: Such applicants would be needed to make online exposure fees on the GATE 2024 application portal through net banking or debit/credit card payment gateways.
