IIT, Roorkee is regarded as the most coveted engineering and technology institutes of India. Founded by Queen Victoria in 1847 as the first engineering college in the British Empire, it boasts a great and honourable history. IIT Roorkee Admission Process 2024
- Eligibility to join IIT Roorkee is granted on the basis of performance in Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) organized by the NTA under the supervision of the government of India. Students have to appear for JEE Main and JEE Advanced to make it to the list of eligible candidates in the first place.
- In order to get admission to the BT program at IIT Roorkee, the candidates must score well in JEE Advanced. However, the shortlisted applicants have to take part in a joint seat allocation activity, which is conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).
- Alongside its admission criteria, IIT Roorkee may also have age limits, qualifying the examination, the year offering the class 12th, and minimum required marks among others. Therefore, candidates are adviced to visit the official IIT Roorkee website for the updates
- The career counselling process for qualifiers involves the collection of marks, selection of courses, and the allocation of seats according to the students’ preferences, ranking of their choices and the availability of seats. After each of this goes through the iteration, which is very likely to have many rounds.
- Admission to postgraduate and to PhD program at IIT Roorkee, is through a separate application and admission test. After shortlisting the candidates, they need to go for interviews to get the admissions at the last level.
