Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, generally known as IIT ISM Dhanbad, is a place of learning among India’s oldest and earliest engineering and technological institutions. It was founded in 1926 as the Indian School of Mines and later changed to the Indian Institute of Technology in 2016 and the Indian Institute of Technology was declared an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad provides courses in engineering, science, humanities, and management curricula at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. It was ranked No. 16 in the NIRF ranking. It is an NAAC Grade ‘A’ Empaneled Institute approved by AICTE ,UGC and other regulatory bodies .
IIT (ISD) Dhanbad offers four year of B. Tech degree in the various branches like mining engineering, petroleum engineering, computer science engineering, civil engineering, electronics engineering and so on for the 2024 academic session of IIT (ISD) Dhanbad. The institute also provides M.Tech and M.Sc for two-year and MBA and five-year integrated M.Tech programs. The JEE-Main and Advanced are used for admission in the B.Tech and dual degree programs. For all other master’s and PG programmes, candidates must submit a GATE score for exams conducted in February. The process of admission is also quite competitive as the students have to produce excellent results in these all India common entrance tests.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Admission Process 2024
Admission to IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is simply through the JEE Advanced exam and an Institution-level examination. A student has to take JEE Main, qualify for the overall score, and meet the cutoff criterion. Only those JEE Main candidates who qualify can be attend JEE Advanced.
The selection process for JEE Advanced ranks will carry the students at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad for various engineering disciplines. The institute in this case is BTech, Dual Degree, Integrated MSc, and other programs across several domains.
It should be mentioned that FOR_THE_2024, the JEE Main exam was conducted in four sessions; these were the February, March, April-May, and June. JEE Adv. was organised in August 2024. Instead of JEE Mains score can be utilised for screening process only. We had a final merit list based on applicants' JEE Advanced ranks.
