Eligibility:
- A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 45-50% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) for reserved categories as per norms.
Documents Required:
- X mark sheet and XII mark sheet.
- All mark sheets of degrees (semesters/years).
- Degree certificate
- Relaxation of Caste Certificate (if applicable for reserved category).
- Transfer certificate
- Migration certificate
- Certificate from GAP (in case the relevant institution is applicable).
- Aadhar card copy
- 2-4 photographs preferably passport sized photographs.
Admission Process:
- The application form may be either downloaded from the university’s website or collected from the university office.
- All documents and application fee should be submitted together with a duly filled form.
- Attend counseling sessions if needed.
- Seat and program allocation based on merit, reservations and choices and other factors affecting availability.
- There was request for payment of fees to confirm admission.
- Applicants to the MA programme should have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
- Merit takes precedence over other considerations during admissions. Performance wise the university considers the candidates during preparation of merit lists for their bachelor degree examination. The candidates are summoned for counseling in accordance to their ranking in the merit list.
- Those who want to apply for MA in English should have passed Bachelor of Arts with English as one of the subjects with at least 45% marks aggregate (40% for reserved category).
- The minimum aggregate percentage through the respective bachelor’s degree level program in MA in Economics, Political Science, History etc. is 45 % (40% for reserved category).
- Some programs like some MA programs might have entrance tests. The specific criterion is stated in the admission notification and prospectus for the specific programs.
- Reservation for seats for SC/ST/OBC & Physically handicapped as per the state government rules.
1. The candidate can visit the university website at sndt.ac.in and see the details of the Master of Arts program. Compare the eligibility criteria, the duration of various programs, fees for same, specializations offered etc.
2. Check the admission notification which normally is displayed in the newspapers or on the university website during the admission period. In it, you will find details about the institute, including the dates, any entrance exam details if applicable, and the application details.
3. Choose the MA specializations you are interested in and check whether you qualify for admission, e.g. possessing a relevant bachelor’s degree with the necessary grades or subjects.
4. Either pick the MA application form from the university physically or can download it from the university’s website. It is important that you read and understand all instructions.
5. Complete the application form with all details that are needed. Enclose required documents like qualification certificates and mark sheets, Identity proof etc. Specify the chosen curriculum.
6. Go submit the duly filled application form and the mandatory application/registration fees (can be paid online) before last date for submission.
7. Take entrance exam if required for the program/specialization in the given dates. Results to be checked when declared, for being considered for admission.
8. In case selected follow up processes and formalities of document verification and admission conformation within stipulated time. Make sure you pay for the program fees in time so that your seat at admission will remain booked.
