K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE) is an autonomous engineering institution located in Mumbai which is a part of the University of Mumbai. KJSCE is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and has received ‘A’ Grade accreditation from NAAC since its Established in 1983. As per NIRF Rankings for the year 2023, KJSCE is placed in the rank of 71 among all the engineering colleges in India.
The institute also provides undergraduate or the B.Tech. courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunications, Mechanical, Civil and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science streams. Postgraduate degrees include M.Tech. and MMS. Admission to B.Tech. To enroll in various engineering and medical streams, MHT-CET exams are mostly taken. As for the MHT-CET, the exam dates of the 2024 batch have not been released yet, although the counselling process is likely to begin in June 2024. The admission process includes registration with the colleges, appearing for MHT CET exam conducted by government of Maharashtra, options selection and admission through CAP rounds and final round of seat allotment.
In the recent years, KJSCE has shown exemplary performance in the placements where more than 500 companies. The leading IT companies that come for recruitment purposes include Microsoft, Amazon, HDFC Bank, Tata consultancy service, cognizant, infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Capgemini and many more. More than 85% of the students’ batch was placed with the highest salary of 43.33 LPA followed by the avg salary of 8 LPA and median salary of 6.5 LPA. The principle industries for hiring include IT, core engineering, analytics/consulting.

The K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE) is situated in Mumbai and it offers the programs at UG, PG and PhD level in various fields of engineering. KJSCE is an Engineering college which is under University of Mumbai and is accredited by NAAC with ‘A+’ grade.
KJSCE offers UG degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical ,Civil , Electrical, and other branches. The 4-year UG programs are divided into semesters with a total of 8 semesters are their study periods. For this, candidates have to undergo through the Maharashtra state CET examination for the admission process.
At the PG level, KJSCE has M. Tech and M. E programs in computers, VLSI & Embedded systems, structural engineering & construction management, thermal engineering etc., admissions for which are offered through GATE / non GATE. In the context of the current paper, the ME/MTech programs are of two years duration divided into four semesters.

The K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering Mumbai which is one of the prestigious colleges in the country offers excellent placements every year. It has the top IT players like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, and Amazon etc apart from the core sector companies like Tata Motors and L&T etc. The latest off-campus placement has been recorded at INR 43.5 lacs per annum from a global financial services company, while the average pay scale stands at around INR 6.5 lacs. This reveals that the placement rate was 77% in the past year as 140 companies came forward to offer 622 jobs. IT and software roles comprised the biggest portion at 60% while the next biggest chunk was at 36% representing core engineering and manufacturing. The college is well connected to acquire industrial linkages with many reputed companies to provide placement opportunities to students.
