Nehru Arts and Science College Coimbatore is an Arts and Science College for women, established in 1998 by the Karumathampatti Educational Trust, situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1998, is an autonomous college recognized under Bharathiar University and recognized by UGC. It has been accredited Grade A in the NAAC score with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.47 on a scale of four. In the latest NIRF Rankings for the year 2023, Nehru Arts and Science College has been ranked 151 amongst all other colleges in India.
The college has a variety of courses offered at undergraduate and postgraduate level at faculties of Arts, Science, Computer Applications and Commerce. Some of the preferred and recognized courses include B.Sc Computer Science, Microbiology, Visual Communication, B.A English Literature, Journalism, BCA, B.Com and M.Sc Biochemistry, Physics etc. It is important for the student to note that Semester exams are usually administered in the months of November & April annually. The admission process is usually opened in the month of May in for the new session of June 2024.
Nehru Arts and Science College stands tall in terms of placements for IT fields with companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture and many others visiting the college for recruitment annually. The maximum package offered for the jobs was up to 12 LPA. More than a million of the students are offered placements through campus recruitment programs. The Placement and Training department helps students secure internships for gaining work experience and conducts educational programs that develop students’ employability skills. Some of the favourite positions available are Software Developer, Business Analyst, Marketing Executive, Content Writer etc. The college provides many MoUs with industries for guest sessions, industrial tours and internships.
