Santhiram Medical College & General Hospital Nandyal is a self financing medical institution that has a lot to offer in terms of medical courses where students can study medical courses in MBBS, MD, MS, Diploma and more. Candidates willing to pursue first MBBS have to qualify NEET exam and must obtain 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. They should have passed 10 + 2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Even for MD/MS courses such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, community medicine, general medicine, paediatrics, TB and respiratory medicine, dermatology, psychiatry, general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology, anaesthesiology, and radio-diagnosis candidates are required to clear NEET PG after completing their MBBS. Like DGO, DORL, DA, DCH, the eligibility criteria involve having an MBBS degree and internship of one year.
The major courses that are taught include the MBBS, MD, MS, Diploma, BDS, MDS, Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical Science and others. Admission in MBBS and BDS courses require the candidate to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET 2024 which would be conducted on 5th May 2024. NEET basic registration begins in December 2023. For MD, MS, MDS – Candidates have to pass NEET PG examination which is held generally in the month of January every year. Nursing courses admission is done once a year through an entrance exam held in May/June 2024. Pharmacy and Paramedical courses registration begins in March every year for the academic session 2024-2025 and admission is based on the merit of the 10+2 exam.
