St Teresa’s College (Autonomous) at Ernakulam was established in 1925 which offers the Undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Science & Commerce streams. The arts departments consist of economics, English, Hindi, history, mathematics, political science, psychology sociology and Malayalam. Science streams include Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Home Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology. Commerce and management faculties comprise BCOM, BBA, MCOM, MASTER OF ARTS IN ECONOMICS, MSc computer science. Admission to most of the UG programs requires a pass in Plus Two or equivalent with some specific subjects for certain programs, for instance science stream students should have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics subjects among others. The qualifying examinations accepted by the course are Higher secondary examination of Kerala, Central board of secondary education, international school certificate education, national institute of open schooling and others state boards.
Some of the premier programmes that are offered across various streams are: BA Economics, BSc Mathematics, B.Com Finance, MA English, MSc Botany, MCom Finance etc. Main upcoming 2024 admission exams are Kerala Higher Secondary Exam in March 2024, Theory Examination in March 2024, CBSE 12th Board exams in February-March 2024. Admission process include - Online admission in May-June 2024, two-three rounds of merit list according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the availability of seats, option for direct admission. Students who are lucky to be selected pay for their fees so as to confirm their admission. As per the schedule of Calicut University, classes start in the last week of June for all programs in the academic year.
St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam announces its admission for the UG and PG programmes every academic year through an online process. The interested candidates can enroll them in the various programs like BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom etc offered by the University through the website www.teresas.ac.in. In the ‘Admissions’ section of the website, learners can find the link to the online application, entry requirements, deadlines and information regarding the process and requirements of admission. As for the application of the services provided by the portal, the students need to create an account by submitting some of their personal information. They then complete the application process by providing their academic ratings, submitting documents, and processing application fee through the system. They include merit, community basis, and through entrance tests, although the university seeks and admits students who are members of the various communities. These students can also come to the college campus and apply through the offline mode by submitting the completed application form along with attested photocopies of the marksheets and any other documents to the Administrative Office. In order to help students, the college provides an admission helpdesk and there are also counselling sessions.
- Students who should have cleared Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or equivalent examination with optional subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics are eligible.
- For admission to B.Sc programs, the candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% of the aggregate marks in the qualifying exam conducted by the universities. For the reserved category students there is likely to be some flexibility given to marks as per government norms.
- Education is offered freely, but there are certain requirements that have to be met before one is admitted into this institution. Selecting the candidates is done based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, that is, Higher Secondary examination and an admission rank list is prepared.
- Some of these programs may be offered on condition that the student undergoes an entrance test from the college offering the course. The marks secured in the entrance test are then added to the qualifying examination and prepared to prepare final rank list.
- Facilitating factors include the number of seats available in the particular discipline, number of intake reserved to the particular categories etc.
1. To obtain the admission in B.Sc, follow the college website or newspaper advertisements for the admission notification and always fulfill the eligibility criteria of the college.
2. After these notifications, one can apply online or physically collect the application form from the college office.
3. Complete the application form very strikingly and enclose their photocopies of the documents needed as a rule, mark sheets of X and XII standard, community/caste certificate if any and others.
4. As for the application fee, if required, complete the online process or use the DD in favor of Principal, St Teresa’s College.
5. A hard copy of the completed application form along-with the required documents should be deposited before the last date either through online mode or by post or personally in the college administrative office.
6. Visit the college admission portal or the notice section of the college for the announcement of the merit list and interview schedule if any.
7. If you are lucky enough to be accepted, then complete your admission process by providing any outstanding documentation, paying your admission/tuition fees, and confirming your admission.
1. The candidate should have passed the relevant B.Sc part—III examination with 55 % marks under the Credit and Semester System or 50% marks in the old system of examination.
2. It is accorded on the Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Kerala and the ranking secured by the candidates or based on the score obtained in the qualifying examination for the degree.
3. For M.Sc programs such as M.Sc Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc. students who have taken these subjects at the graduation level are eligible to apply.
4. Various category wise seat reservation as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates is being offered.
5. The final list is drawn based on the entrance examination ranking, the marks scored in the qualifying degree, and the norms of reservations and the number of seats available for admission to particular departments.
