Advanced Diploma in Computer Science is a 1-2 year diploma level in Computer Science and Information Technology. Training is imparted in areas such as programming languages, databases, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering and the like. The tenure for the Advanced Diploma courses is generally one year for the students passing 10+2 examinations and two years as a whole for the Class 10 passed students.
The aptitude tests that are considered for enrollment into Advanced Diploma in Computer Science programs are qualifying examinations of various state education boards, polytechnic entrance examination, or direct admission based on 10+2/Class X marks. There are also some institutes that take into account the test scores of the students in JEE Mains, CET or any other engineering/technology/polytechnic entrance test for admitting the students in their Advanced Diploma in CS programs. Lateral entry is also possible in ITI & diploma holders in engineering stream of related branches.

1. A minimum 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board.
2. However, any student who holds a three-year diploma in engineering or technology from a recognized institute can apply.
3. In general, any candidate who has passed Class 12 in vocational stream with subject computer science/IT can apply.
4. It may also be mentioned that there are no bar on the age or any entrance exam for admission in this course. There is no restriction in the eligibility criteria whether one is a fresher after completing 12th standard or a working employee.
5. Students preparing for their Class 12 examination can apply in a similar manner with the provision of submitting documents specified at the time of result declaration.
6. English should be one of the subjects in Class 12 or diploma for one to be qualified to undertake this computer science program.
