Textile Design is a four-year degree programme which aims at imparting knowledge on the designing, processing and utilization of textiles. It offers theoretical and practical concepts of textile materials and manufacturing processes, design principles and theories, trend analysis and practice insight. A Bachelor’s course in Textile Design takes 3-4 years for completion and the course content comprises of textile science, textile technology, design, computer knowledge, and other optional subjects such as fashion merchandising, quality control, home furnishing, Technical Textiles.
The common entrance exams accepted for admission into the Bachelor’s program in Textile Design are: NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology), NID (National Institute of Design), CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design), UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Test for Design), university and institute level examinations. Some colleges also use the class 12th marks in additions to the Design aptitude test/check or portfolio for admission.

1. Candidates must have passed 10+2 in science, commerce or arts with a minimum 50% pass from any recognized board.
