Bachelor of Arts (Fashion Design) is a specialisation under the arts degree programme that deals with fashion design in a creative and technical way. It is a full time 3 years course which offer training in basic fashion concepts in pattern making, draping, garment construction, fashion illustration, textiles, history of fashion, computer aided fashion designing. Students are taught various types of fabrics, shapes, and styles and then they are trained on how to make finished products out of the initial designs.
The B.A Fashion design course has entrance exams like NIFT, NID, CEED as the accepted exams for admission. Other entrance tests that one can undertake may include the state or university entrance tests and they are equally considered as valid entrance tests for fashion design degree programs. This includes entrance tests such as CET, UCEED, NATA and merit that candidates secure in their higher secondary Board examinations particularly for courses in fine arts. program.
