Fine Art is an undergraduate degree course known as Bachelor of Art in Fine Art (BA) which takes three academic years to complete. This degree includes different forms of specialization in visual and performing arts like painting, sculpture, art history, dance, music, drama, etc. It gives theoretical as well as practical understanding about art and aesthetics. It fosters creativity through coursework such as principles of arts, history of art movements, technique, showcasing students’ works, the students participate in exhibitions, etc The degree provides the fundamental basis for establishing a career in areas of painting, art curation, art journalism, theater acting and directing, art teaching and so on.
The entrance examination accepted for admission in Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) are NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture and CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) conducted by IIT Bombay. Most of the colleges and universities also conduct their own entrance exams to shortlist the candidates for the program on the basis of drawing skills, aesthetic sense, art ability and awareness about art. Portfolio of the artworks done by the candidate is also an important part of selection criterion. It is mandatory to pass examinations of 12th standard and meet the minimum eligibility criteria to get admitted.

1. Any 10+2 pass in Science, Commerce or Arts with minimum 50% marks from any recognized central or state board.
