BA Mathematics is an undergraduate program that is centered on the teaching of Mathematics. The total duration of the BA Mathematics course is three years which are split in to six semesters. It tackles different branches of mathematics including calculus, algebra, statistics, geometry, number theory and others with more difficult classes. Mathematics includes concepts, calculations, methods of solving problems and uses of mathematics by students.
Some of the accepted entrance exams for admission to BA Mathematics programs are: JEE Main, JEE Advanced, exams conducted at the state level, at national or university level, or at the level of the college. Most of the college use class 12th board examination marks as criteria for admission. While the others have institute specific tests. Tests assess the quantitative and reasoning skills of learners as well as their analytical thinking. Logical reasoning, and ability to solve mathematical problems with ease are also assessed. In selection of a student into the BA Mathematics program offered by various colleges, performance in these exams, 12th marks and personal interviews are used.
