BA in Politics is an undergraduate program that deals with political science, government, international relations, politics, policies, and theories. The course structure of this course is for three years and includes subjects like Indian government and politics, comparative politics, public administration, political theory and research methodology. Apart from these considerations students also get an understanding about how governments work, the role of political institutions, formation of policies, elections, and political ideas and political ideologies.
The major entrance exams accepted for admission in BA (Politics) are higher secondary exams like class 12th board exams from recognized boards. Many of the colleges take scores of National/State level examination like SAT, ACT, CLAT or the university level test for the admission to BA program. Having good number of marks in 12th examinations with subjects like political science, history, sociology etc are desirable.

1. 10+2 pass in any stream Science, Commerce, Arts with minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination from a recognized board.
2. No age limit. It is open for both the fresher as well as the experienced candidates.
3. As far as the 10+2 examinations are concerned, the pass percentage of the reserved category students is 45%.
4. English as one of the subjects in 10+2 is mandatory at many of the colleges.
5. Some colleges have their own entrance examinations for the admission of the students. On the other hand, excellent performers are offered direct admission into the learning institutions they chose.
6. Any student independent of his or her previous education can undertake BA in Politics. The student does not need to have any prior knowledge of the subject Politics.
