Public health is an undergraduate course that covers the core concepts of Public and community health with an award of Bachelor of Arts (BA). The program is offered over a period of three years with the training spread over six semesters. Some of the subject areas offered in the curriculum are; fundamental of public health, Epidemiology, environmental health, health promotion, health policy and administration among others with the main goal of providing knowledge and skills to the students in disease and prevention of health promotion for communities.

Some of the major entrance exams accepted for admission into the BA Public Health course across colleges are: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED), All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS (AIIMS MBBS), Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam (AFMC), Indira Gandhi National Open University BSc Nursing Entrance Exam (IGNOU BSc Nursing), BLDE University Under Graduate Entrance Test (BLDE UGET) and Manipal Academy of Higher Education Under Graduate Programs Entrance Test (MET Board examinations of Class 12 is also considered for admission and more emphasis is given for the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

BA (Public Health) Eligibility

1. The candidate must be a 10+2 pass out or any equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with minimum 50% marks. 

2. There is no restriction regarding the stream of study which a student is pursuing as it can be Science, Arts, Commerce etc.  

3. The school does not have a policy on age discrimination where no age limit applies in the admission of students. It has no restriction based on Candidate should be IT fresher after 12th or working professional. 

4. These tests are required for students coming from non-English speaking countries to show the level of English they are proficient.

5. Mathematics is not mandatory at 10+2 level for the admission into the various BA in Public Health programs. 

6. Regarding more specific requirements some universities have entrance tests or interviews etc., which a student has to pass to be admitted.
