As the name suggests, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Punjabi is an undergraduate programme that deals with the aspects of language, literature and history of Punjab only. This is a three year degree course that involves study of grammar, poetry, prose, linguistics, translation, drama, fiction, the social and cultural history of Punjab and more. Students are also taught the fundamentals of reading, writing, speaking and comprehending Punjabi as a language. The program comprises songs written by famous Punjabi writers and poets and Punjabi Folk Tales. Elective subjects make it possible for students to get acquainted with related disciplines such as sociology, political science or mass communication.
The BA Punjabi degree admission considers entrance examination like BA exam conducted by university, CUET exam conducted by NTA, PSET exam and PUET exam conducted by respective state universities. In addition to the above mentioned, each college or university may set its own qualifying written examination and interview for admission into the undergraduate programme. Another criterion in the admission process is the marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12 board exams in relevant subjects.
