Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design) is a four-year undergraduate program that is dedicated to the field of textile designing. This is a 3-year full time course wherein various aspects like fabrics, the printing techniques, weaving, dyeing, embroidering, fashion studies are included into course The basic as well as the advanced methods of designing the fabrics are taught to the students.
The entrance examinations accepted for admission in BA Textile Design course includes - UCEED, NID DAT, NIFT entrance test, or any design aptitude test conducted by the colleges / universities. There are many institutes which take class 12 scores and conduct additional rounds such as group discussion, personal interview along with the design/creative ability test for final admission.

1. The candidate must be a 10+2 passed in any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts) with minimum 50% marks in average from a recognized board.
2. Candidates should have the ability to design and should have passion in textiles. Some prior knowledge in art would be preferable.
3. There are no strict age requirements but some institutes have restrictions and the maximum age allowed is 23.
4. Some of the design institutes providing this program may have a design/art entrance examination for admission.
5. At the time of admission, the candidate must present a collection of works of art to prove his or her creativity.
6. It is standard practice to require candidates from non-English speaking backgrounds to sit for English language proficiency tests.
