Business Administration is an undergraduate programme offered under the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree, an academic course, which takes an average of three years to complete. The programme helps students to establish a good foundation of ideas in various area of business management including accounting, finance, marketing, human resource, operation and the whole of it. The curriculum comprises of common subjects such as; financial accounting, marketing management, business economics, business mathematics among others as well as areas of specialty which may include marketing, finance, human resource or systems.
The entrance tests that many students take for admission in B.Com (Business Administration) are CUCET, PESSAT, SET, CET BBA, BUMAT, JET and Uni GAUGE. The entrance examination is more often conducted in the months of April to June of every academic year. While some of the colleges grant admission based on the marks those students secure in class 12 boards, almost all the reputed B schools and universities in India conduct their own qualifying test for admission to this course.

1. Any candidate who has completed his/her 10+2 examination or any equivalent examination from any recognized board can apply for the course, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
2. The eligibility criteria for admission in Management courses also includes pass in Mathematics/Accounts/Business Mathematics/ Business Studies/Economics/Statistics subjects in 10+2 level.
3. However, there is no set age that restricts admission to the course.
4. Admission within the course: merit basis – on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2, and /or entrance exam.
5. Some of the courses required good English skills for them to be able to comprehend what is taught in class.
6. It may be necessary for an individual to get a physical fitness certificate especially when joining certain universities/ colleges.
1. CAT (Common Admission Test) : MBA entrance examination over the country administered by the IIMs to select the students for the various management courses like B.Com.
2. CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) – Nationalized Test conducted by AICTE for Management admission in AICTE affiliated B.Com.
3. XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) – Commonly known as Xavier Admission Test and is organized by XLRI Jamshedpur for getting admission in management courses for over 150 B-schools including B.Com.
4. MAT (Management Aptitude Test) – This is also called as AIMA MAT and is conducted by the All India Management Association for selecting candidates for admission to the management programs.
5. ATMA (AIMS Test for Management Admissions) – It is conducted for admission into MBA/PGDM along with B.Com Business Administration.
