B.Des. (Fired Material Design) is a four-year undergraduate course which prepares students with the knowledge of designing and making fired-materials such as pottery, ceramics, glassware, and tiling. The courses offered are ceramic material and processes, glaze and technology, design of ceramics, ceramic sculpture, glass forming and designing, and computer aided designing in ceramics. This way students are provided with practical knowledge about various techniques such as throwing, hand building, mold making, glazing.
The entrance tests accepted for this admission included: The Material Design program that was fired is using NID DAT or National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test, CEED or Common Entrance Exam for Design, NIFT or National Institute of Fashion Technology, UCEED or Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design and NPAT or National Aptitude Test in Architecture. A few colleges also take marks scored in class 12 into account for admission. In addition to exams, candidates are required to pass other tests in studio or be in a position to present their portfolio during the selection process.

1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 in any group like Science, Commerce or Arts and have secured minimum 50% in aggregate.
2. 10+2 Science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics should have been cleared for those who have applied with 10+2 Science stream.
3. Candidates applying from Arts/Commerce stream require one of the subjects in 10+2 level as Basic Maths.
4. UCEED/NID/NIFT qualified candidates can only apply for the respective posts.
5. The candidates who appeared 10+2 level examination can also apply in a provisional basis provided they fulfill the above criteria after coming out with their result.
6. It is important to note that some institutes that offer this course might administer an entrance exam to admit students as they might not use common national level tests.
