Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Game Design and Animation is an undergraduate program of 4 years where a learner is trained in multiple aspects of game design, including the story, arts and visuals, the structure of the gameplay, animation and graphics, as well as coding. The students are exposed to the practical tutelage of the concepts, methodologies, tools and technologies in the design and development of the concept, prototyping , designing and development of the interactive games across console, mobile, virtual reality/ augmented reality and more. Some of the subjects offered are graphic and interaction design fundamentals, new generation game technologies, principles of 3D modeling and animation, game development, level building, identification of game manufacturing sequence, and project management. But there are also such specializations as 2D/3D animation, VFX, or technical art for the further years.
The full course of B.Des Game Design and Animation in various universities is spread for four years with eight semesters including one semester of industry internships. Acceptable national level entrance exams for admission are NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design), UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) and other standard entrance exams that test the creativity ability, game sense, observations and design sense that is expected of this program and individual design institute or college may also have their own qualifying tests for admission.

1. The candidate should be a 10+2 pass in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts) with minimum 50% marks in the total from a recognized board.
