The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Applied Arts is an academic program offered at the undergraduate level that deals with the area of visual arts. The BFA Applied Arts course generally takes 4 years of complete study, that is, eight semesters. In this program, the students learn different skills in different fields such as painting, sculpture, graphics, animation, and photography, etc. The content knowledge includes both theoretical as well as practical aspects that aim at creating a combination of innovativeness and professionalism. For getting admission to the BFA Applied Arts program, students have to go through entrance examination like NEST conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID). Other institutes offering this program admit students based on a practical skill assessment or aptitude tests designed to determine interests and artistic ability. During the interviews, portfolio presentations are also used as part of the selection process.
