It is an undergraduate program that specifically concerns fashion industry and takes a span of 3 years named B.Sc (Fashion Design and Management). Some of the subjects taught in course are Garment Construction, Pattern Making, Design Concepts, Fashion Selling and Marketing, Retailing, Textiles, Fashion Communication and others. In fashion students receive information on tendencies, design, production, logistics, branding and launching own brands. The program assists students in becoming innovative in their ideas and business-minded in their approach towards being the fashion designers, merchandisers, buyers, fashion journalists.
The national level entrance exams accepted most commonly are NIFT, NID, CEED to seek admission in high ranked institutes of fashion designing in India. Many other private colleges hold their own entrance examinations or offer admission strictly on the basis of the 12th standard marks. There are also some institutes which provide lateral entry for the diploma holders in the B.Sc Fashion Design and Management program and they can join the course right from the 2nd semester.
