Avionics is an Undergraduate program abbreviated as B.Sc in Avionics where students study the electronic system used in aircraft, spacecraft and satellites. This is a 3-year degree program that deals with aspects such as aircraft instrumentation and communication, navigation and guidance, aircraft power, aerospace electronics and avionics software. The subjects covered are applied mathematics, physics, aerodynamics, electrical and Electronics engineering with special emphasis on aviation and space. Students are taught practical sessions in lab sessions and projects on assembly, testing and repair of aircraft electronic devices.
The entrance exams allowed for admission to B.Sc. Avionics programs are available through national level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main), state level exams OJEE, CEE and University conducted exams DUET. Many institutes also take into account the candidate’s marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the 12th standard while hiring. The minimum requirement is pass in 12th Science stream or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and obtaining more than 50% marks in aggregate.
