Economics and Finance is an undergraduate program offered for three years and it includes economic theory, financial and cost accounting, mathematics, and statistics. Conceptual tools are introduced to the students for the evaluation of economic systems, the modelling of financial decisions and quantitative research methods. The curriculum includes knowledge about macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, corporate finance, investment, banking, public finance, international trade, economic development and much more. The program prepares students with technical and analytical skills that will enable them to undertake careers in financial sectors, policymaking organizations, economic research organizations, consulting companies, think-tank organizations, and other alike organizations.
Candidates who have passed their Grade 12 examinations with some subjects as mathematics, accounts, economics or business studies are eligible to apply. The entrance examination can be SAT, ACT, International Baccalaureate Diploma, A Level, GCE O & A Level, CBSE, Indian state boards, etc Some universities may also accept the AP, SAT subject scores, recommendation letters for economics and finance program. International students must produce IELTS or TOEFL scores to be eligible for a placement. This means that there’s always fierce competition in each applicants admission file, and the criteria that are considered include; academic records, extra curriculum co-curricular achievements, research experience and personal achievements to name but a few.
