B.Sc (Fisheries) is an Undergraduate Degree course that takes for three years focusing on the Fisheries Science. It offers comprehensive information on different fields of fisheries such as fish physiology, fish farming, genetic of fish, feed and nutrition of fish, diseases in fish, fishery oceanography, fish diversity, fish stock management, biotechnology of fish, fresh water and salt water biology and fishery respectively. The curriculum comprises a combination of the academic concepts and skills together with the practical.
Admission to the B.Sc Fisheries program, the candidate is supposed to pass the class 12 examination and have a Biology subject from a recognized board. Some institutes admit only candidates who have passed 12th standard and the preferred stream is agriculture and dairy science. Some of the admission tests conducted for entry are state and central entrance tests such as, CUET, ATMA, APICET, OUAT, and ICAR.

1. Pass the 10+2 examination of a recognized board with science stream having at least 50% marks.
2. Interested candidate should apply to colleges offering B.Sc Fisheries before the admission dates as mentioned above.
3. Take entrance tests if necessary in the colleges that one is applying to.
4. Students should review merit list and attend the counselling session if they have been called in.
5. Pay admission fee alongside submitting supporting documents in order to secure the seat.
6. Be enrolled in a college and be in class right from the onset of the academic session.
1. 12th grade pass or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics as the main subjects from a recognized board.
2. The cutoff marks for 10+2 are somewhere between 50-60%, mostly associated with Science, Biology, and Math, depending on the college. Others maybe have a more comply condition applying.
3. Lucky it is that English as a subject is required in some of the institutes who have been practicing it.
4. On the other hand, age limit is less than 21 years in most cases but differs according to various institutes.
5. There are number of institutes that conduct their entrance test themselves while others consider the 10+2 scores for admission.
6. Besides physical fitness, and refined eyesight are other criteria demanded by some other institutes.
7. Vacancies are filled by those who belong to reserved categories only such as SC/ST/OBC, like per government policies.
8. Diploma Completers in Fisheries can also join the 2nd year of the B.Sc fisheries in some colleges during the direct admission process.
ICAR AIEEA (UG): ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination for Admission (UG) in Fishery Science is also provided for admission to many of the different agricultural universities in India.
AUCET: The Andhra University Common Entrance Test gives an option of including Fisheries Science which is one of its available courses for undergraduate programs.
OUAT: Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology conducts an admissions test for determining eligibility to a range of bachelor degree programs, such as Fisheries Science.
KU PGCET: The entrance exam conducted by the Kakatiya University for post graduate common admission tests gives admissions in the following fields , among others, like fisheries science for post graduate programs.
CUCET: Among the subjects available for CUCET admission to undergraduate courses across central universities is Fisheries Science.
