Ayurveda certificate course is a short-durational course that offers an understanding of the basics of Ayurveda. This type of course normally takes between 6 months to one year and the subject areas that are covered include; First principles of Ayurveda, Human anatomy and physiology as understood in Ayurveda system of medicine, Using plants and herbs in medicine, and various therapies used in Ayurveda such as panchakarma. They get theoretical and practical knowledge regarding Ayurvedic lifestyle, diet, remedial measures, treatments.

In the Certificate Course in Basic Ayurveda there are no entrance exams which are necessary to be taken by the students. The minimum standard of entry level is usually 10 plus 2 or equivalent from a recognised board. It is recommended that institutes should accept the students who have passed 10th grade and are more than 16 years old

1. Candidate should have passed 10+2 from any recognized board from any stream. 

2. The minimum age requirement is 17 years while there is no maximum age to attend the basic ayurveda certificate course.

3. The basic ayurveda course is for any candidate from any stream Science, Arts, Commerce or any stream without any bar. 

4. Even students who wish to take the 10+2 examinations can enroll for this course. They require to provide the mark sheet before the completion of the course.

5. The short-term ayurvedic medicine course is also open for foreign nationals and NRIs who wish to enroll in the Ayurvedic system of medicine in India.

6. There is no medical qualification mentioned to be possessing while pursuing the basic ayurveda course and the course does not have any such pre-requisites.
