The Certificate Course in Cytogenetics is a specialized course in cytogenetics that involves the study of chromosomes and the genes that are complied in them regarding their role in inheritance along with the abnormalities noticed in diseases. 1. They must have completed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in Science stream with Biology as one of the subjects with minimum 50% marks.
2. The candidate must have passed his graduation in science subjects, such as biology, zoology, botany, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics.
3. Lab technicians, research assistants, scientists who are currently employed but are free to work and who have at least one year working experience could also apply.
4. Like other classes, the course is available for Indian and foreign nationals with a relevant educational background and working experience.
5. In addition to these qualifications, applicants should possess adequate knowledge in genetics, cytology, and biochemistry coupled with analytical and critical thinking abilities.
6. There exists a selection process normally in the form of a written examination and/or interview where candidates are tested on their knowledge in the relevant subject matter.
