Certificate in Anesthesia Technician is a short-term program in the healthcare field to provide the students with skills necessary to work with anesthesiologists before, during, or after the administration of anesthesia to patients. It takes 6 months to 1 year and appears in the form of full time classroom program for paramedical and health care training institutes accredited by paramedical council. The curriculum includes the study of human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, types of anesthesia, anesthesia equipment and operation, intra- and post-operative patient care, and emergencies as well as laboratory practice and practice internship.
The eligibility to get enrolled in this programme is the minimum qualification of passing 10+2 in science stream. Admissions in many institutes are based on their own entrance examinations, while others use the marks secured in 10+2 examinations for admitting students. NEET, the AIIMS BSc paramedical tests, RUHS exam, and JIPMER paramedical tests are other tests that offer the successful candidates.
