Diploma in Dress Designing and Manufacturing – this course can be completed within 3 years and it is a diploma level course offered to students in the domain of fashion designing. Students find out various aspects of constructing garments such as pattern drafting, draping skills, sewing, fabric, fashion sketching and fashion portfolio. Besides, the courses have embraced both the conceptual framework and the skill development needed to fit the industry. From the second year onward, students are able to exercise their skills in pattern making, fabric cutting, sewing, fitting, and pressing using industrial sewing machines.
The minimum qualification requirement for admission in the diploma programme is a pass in the 10+2 examination from any stream of a recognized board or its equivalent. There are some institutes that offer entrance examination and then the candidates are interviewed or given a group discussion session. Many entrance tests are conducted for the admission to the Diploma in Dress Designing programme such as NIFT entrance exam, UCEED, CEED, NID DAT and other tests conducted by state or universities.

1. Educational Qualification - Contenders must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognized Board and acquired aggregate marks of not less than 50 percent. The scholar list can also allow students who are appearing for the 10+2 exams to apply.
