Diploma in Advanced Medical Imaging Technology is a paramedical course offered at the Diploma level and it prepares students in advance medical imaging modalities and technologies. This diploma course is generally for one to two years and gives the student theoretical knowledge along with practical training related to operation of devices like CT scan, MRI, PET scan, mammography. The course content includes the student understanding aspects of the human body in terms of anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as physics knowledge related to medical imaging.
The prescribed qualification for admission to Diploma in Advanced Medical Imaging Technology course is pass in Class 12th science stream with PCB & Biology or Physics & Chemistry as optional subjects. Numerous institutes also have their own tests to be given to the candidates selecting them for further studies. Certain colleges admit students into the second years of the program based on credit transfers from other related paramedical diploma courses such as radiography, radio diagnosis.
