Diploma in Dress Designing and Manufacturing is a one-year diploma programme that deals with apparel production designing. It is also important for Lateral entry that students must have cleared 10+2 in any stream or passed garment construction or dress designing certification in order to get admission in the second year of 2-year diploma course in Fashion Technology. The courses offered are pattern making, fashion construction, fashion illustration, apparel production management, quality assurance, introduction to Indian textiles, computer designed fashion.
Any candidate who appeared for 10+2 in any stream or who have a certification in dress making/designing can apply for this course. There are no entry requirements in terms of examinations for students who wish to be part of the programme. Admission procedure comprises of marks in class 12th for 10+2 passed candidates. For candidates who have had a certification previous to this, the percentage passed in their qualifying test is used to determine their admission.

1. They should be a 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board and have minimum 50% of the aggregate marks.
2. Job seekers who have 1 year diploma in garment manufacturing or fashion designing from a recognized institute are also eligible.
3. The garment/fashion industry must have worked for a minimum of 2 years, then apply for a lateral entry.
4. It requires candidate to be of 17 years of age as on the date of admission and no upper age bar is prescribed.
5. Where one is applying for the lateral entry, then selection will be done based on merit of the qualifying examination or experience.
6. Institute may also require applicants to sit for entrance test and interview if they are to be allowed into the institute.
