Diploma in Interior Design is a 1- 2 years diploma level course usually taken in design schools, which offers education in principles of interior design, space planning, furniture design and color theories amongst others. Interior design students are trained to create interior environments for dwelling and business purposes with focus on operation, appearance, safety, and clients’ requirement. They contain a combination of lectures and assignments that introduce the concepts and tools and let the students apply them. 

The entrance examination accepted by the diploma differ college wise. A few of the colleges permit the students to get admitted on the basis of their scores or percentages in class 12th without being restricted to science stream. Some of the other accepted entrance examination include: NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture), CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design), NID (National Institute of Design) examination, UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) and AMU (Aligarh Muslim University) entrance exam.

Diploma in Interior Design Course Eligibility

1. Minimum 50% in 10+2 in any stream from any recognized board for the branch and minimum 50% marks in English language for lateral entry. 

2. The candidates who have completed any diploma in 10+3 stream can also apply for admission.  

3. Yes, it is flexible because there is no fixed age to take the admission in this course. The candidates from both the batches for those who completed their 12th standard and the working candidates also can apply.

4. Candidates who are appearing or cleared their 10+2 exam can apply for the admission also. 

5. A few of the institutes demand the applicants to get through an entrance examination for getting an admission. 

6. Each candidate has to face a personal interview set by the institute before he or she is finally admitted for the course.

Diploma in Interior Design Entrance Exams

1. NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture): Examinations on ability to draw, observation skills, aesthetic judgment. 

2. UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design): Measures design ability and talent in creating visuals.

3. CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design): As an excellent psychometric test for design programs, it engages creative and analytical skills.  

4. NID (National Institute of Design): Measures ability in design by administering studio test, creative ability test, etc.

5. SPA (School of Planning and Architecture): This include drawing, aptitude test, interview etc in the entrance exam.

Diploma in Interior Design Admission 2024

1. This involves searching for the actual and current requirements like 12th pass qualification and minimum percentage required. 

2. Download the application form from the Internet or get it from any of the offices and then complete it in the required.

3. There are many more documents like mark-sheets, ID proof, photos which are mandatorily needed. 

4. Application and admission fee can equally be paid online or through demand draft.

5. Take any entrance test and/or interview that may be required in some schools. 

6. Obtain an admission confirmation provided that you underwent the whole procedure successfully in case the institution accepted.
