Diploma in Interior Design is a 1- 2 years diploma level course usually taken in design schools, which offers education in principles of interior design, space planning, furniture design and color theories amongst others. Interior design students are trained to create interior environments for dwelling and business purposes with focus on operation, appearance, safety, and clients’ requirement. They contain a combination of lectures and assignments that introduce the concepts and tools and let the students apply them.
The entrance examination accepted by the diploma differ college wise. A few of the colleges permit the students to get admitted on the basis of their scores or percentages in class 12th without being restricted to science stream. Some of the other accepted entrance examination include: NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture), CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design), NID (National Institute of Design) examination, UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) and AMU (Aligarh Muslim University) entrance exam.
