Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education is an under-diploma course programme which is one year duration. This course makes a student understand the basic nutrition science, health problems among the community, the principles of healthy eating and the ways of health education. Major courses include food chemistry, nutrients and their requirements, planning of meals, nutritional status, safety aspects in food industry, and promotion of public health. This diploma program assists its learners in securing relevant positions such as health educators, nutrition advisors, diet clerks, school health coordinators.
The minimum educational requirement for one to qualify for enrollment to the Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education is to have passed at least the 12th standard education in any stream. It is seen that most of the institutes/colleges have their own written test /entrance exam for the admission to this course. Some institutes also provide admission based on a merit determined by the performance in the 12th standard examinations. 1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from any stream from a recognized board of education with at least 50% aggregate marks.
