Master of Arts (MA) in African studies is a post graduate program offered at the universities which is mainly inter-disciplinary and helps to master the knowledge of history, political systems, cultures, language and development on the African continent. It is normally offered for 2 years at full time study programme. The programme provides diverse coursework in fields like History, Geography, Politics, Anthropology, Development Studies, Language, Music and Literature among others that focus on the African region.
The common entrance exams accepted for admission are: GRE (Graduate Record Examination); Some universities may accept GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test); TOEFL/IELTS for international students; In addition to the above, universities may have their own additional demands about, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, undergraduate GPA scores, relevant work experience.
