MA in political Science or Master of Arts is a two-year postgraduate program that offers education in political theories, theories of international relations, public administration, policies and government systems. The length of this program normally takes 2 years full time study, that is, 4 semesters. There are facts about political systems, the role of parliaments, political parties, political events and research methods in the specification of the curriculum.

The usual entrance exams for admission acceptance in the MA Political Science program are: UGC NET exam; University conducted, written tests assessing the knowledge and proficiency of the students in the subject; Certain universities also accept valid and qualifying scores in the tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT and GRE. Colleges are also directly admitting students on the basis of merit in qualifying examinations while, the performance of students in the personal interview rounds is also taken into consideration in order to admit the students.

MA Political Science Course Eligibility 2024

1. A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination conducted by any University.  

2. From the arts and humanities, the candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in any related subjects including political science. 

3. It should be noted that students from such subjects as science or technical courses should have sufficient knowledge of social sciences and political systems. 

4. Proficiency in both oral and written communication is required as political science programs entail research, assessment work, and dissertation.

5. The requirements may be for clearing the national or state level entrance exams such as UGC NET, CEET.  

6. They also consider applicants who have previous working experience which is of benefit in areas such as journalism, research or public administration.
