The Master of Arts (MA) in Politics is a postgraduate program that deals specifically with the analysis of government, political systems and policies. This course is normally lasting for 2 years with four semesters in all. The curriculum comprises of subjects such as political theory, comparative politics, international relations, public administration and security studies, political sociology. The students are trained in both qualitative as well as quantitative research methods.
The other standard tests that are considered while giving admissions to the MA Politics programmes are CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT or GMAT. Certain colleges even have their own written tests, which are conducted to assess the student’s aptitude for learning the subjects required for the particular course. They also undergo personal interviews in which their subject knowledge aptitude and interest are tested for selection. 1. Passed 10+2 examination with 50% marks and a bachelor’s degree in any field from any university recognized by the University Grants Commission.
