Animal biotechnology postgraduate program: Master of Science (M.Sc) is a 2-year program centered on the use of biotechnology in the health of domestic animals and wildlife, breeding, reproduction, and production. Some of the subjects taught include animal cell culture techniques, transgenic animal production, animal nutrition and feed technology, bioinformatics, molecular modeling and so on Such subjects offer students both theoretical and practical exposure to various aspects of animal biotechnology, including research using advanced technologies and tools in the field through theoretical classes, practical sessions, research activities and industrial/institute tours, respectively. The program seeks to prepare students for professional practice in scientific research that focus on animal biotechnology through acquiring competencies in research, teaching, industry, regulatory bodies and other related careers in the country and other parts of the world.
The entrance exams that are acceptable for admission to the M.Sc Animal Biotechnology are CUCET, GAT-B, IIT JAM, JNUEE and others; apart from these, there are many other entrance examinations conducted by different colleges and universities across the country. Passing in relevant bachelor’s degrees like Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Zoology, Veterinary Sciences, etc are also taken into consideration before taking student to the next admission process like interview. Like knowledge in English as a foreign language, fluency in English is also demanded in most institutes.
