Astronomy M.Sc (Master of Science in Astronomy) is a post graduate Master’s degree course in the specialized field of astronomy. This course commonly takes 2 years to complete the course so that the students get adequate practical experience. The curriculum is centered on postgraduate level subjects of astronomy with topics that include stellar structure and evolution, observational astronomy, galaxies and their structure, external galaxies and cosmology.
It is important to know that M.Sc (Astronomy) programs accept a number of entrance exams. The entrance examination accepted by all the participating universities are GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) and JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test) in the field of physics and mathematics related to the subject. UG: As stated earlier, some universities require UGC-CSIR NET scores while there are universities that accept scores of M.Sc entrance tests such as the DUET.
