M.Phil. or Master of Philosophy Degree (Commerce) is a postgraduate program in commerce which is usually a 1-2 year course. The program is designed to provide for the acquisition of higher-order learning competencies and higher-order thinking to tackle difficult problems in fields of specialization such as accounting, finance, economics, marketing, human resource management, and management. The students are taught on research tools, methods of statistical analysis, and academic writing to prepare them to work on an independent research project and thesis under faculty supervision.
