M.Phil in Public Administration is a postgraduate research course which deals with the administration of governmental policies and their programmes. It is an academic discipline that focuses on the postgraduate study of subjects such as public policy, public affairs, development administration, organizational behaviour, human resource management
The standard entry requirements include the entrance examinations that are allowed for admission into the M.Phil. Public Administration programs are: UGC NET in Public Administration, UGC NET in Management, UGC CSIR NET in Social Science, ICAR’s ASRB National Eligibility Test, State level eligibility test conducted by various Universities like TISS, IGNOU, Jamia, OUAT Exam. Some of the institutes may also conduct screen test/ written test/ interview besides the qualifying examination.

1. Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with not less than 55% of marks from any recognized University.
2. Candidates who have cleared UGC NET/JRF or candidates who have cleared the SET examinations should preferably apply.
3. Supposed to have work experience in public administration or any related field that most of the institutes consider important.
4. Other features have to do with communication skills, both, oral and written.
5. Should have appeared research methodology as a paper during post graduation.
6. There are some institutes which themselves set up their entrance test for getting into M.Phil Public Administration program.
