Marine chemistry is a branch of oceanography that deals with the chemical aspect of the marine environment and Ph.D. in Marine Chemistry is a doctorate degree program pertaining to this field of study. This is an MBA level program that is normally taken for 3-5 years based on the students’ research findings. The curriculum consists of chemical oceanography, chemistry of seawater, interaction between environment and organisms, biochemical processes in the sea, environmental monitoring and assessment of sea pollution.
The entrance examination tests that are considered at the national level for admission to the Ph.D. Marine Chemistry are CSIR UGC NET for JRF/SLET SET GATE and few of the institutes accept the GRE scores. Further, the candidate should only be ICMR JRF, INSPIRE qualified or have a valid score in these exams.
