Ph.D. (Marketing) is a doctoral research degree that takes approximately 3- 5 years to complete. It entails higher level of marketing education including consumer behavior, research methods, marketing strategies, etc. The programme requires students undertake research work and produce a doctoral dissertation from a research study conducted in a specific area of marketing. Ph.D. programs develop research and analytical skills to equip the students for employment in marketing research and or teaching in universities.
The entrance tests recognized for admission to Ph.D. (Marketing) are CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, CMAT and GMAT. NET/SET qualified candidates are generally given direct admission to the Ph.D. program also. Candidates are also evaluated on other factors such as – academic qualifications related to the field of research, prior research experience, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation and performance in personal interview process that form part of the admission process. English proficiency, numerical, analytical and research skills are the key factors that decide the fate and possibility to secure a place out of very few seats in various universities.
