The PDCC is a 1-year programme which provides advanced training in pathology to the medical post-doctorates. This specific course is designed for post graduate medical students who want to gain knowledge and practice in the subject of pathology. Otherwise, students complete a program curriculum that covers such theoretical concepts and practical experiences as clinical pathology, hematology, cytology, histopathology, molecular pathology.
The admission process for the PDCC programs include an entrance exam that is NEET-PG after which the students undergo counseling. Further, students’ aspirants must be completed their MBBS and also PG diseases in Pathology or Laboratory Medicine. Institutes also evaluate the candidates in the personal interview round as well and therefore this round is very significant for the candidates. Applicants are selected based on their academic abilities, prior research experience, and the amount of knowledge they possess related to pathology before enrolling in this higher level certification program.

1. Qualification – must have an MBBS degree from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India.
2. Must have done rotatory Compulsory internship of one year duration as defined by the commission.
3. The candidates must register with the state medical council or medical council of India.
4. Fresh candidates must have passed qualifying examination i.e. MBBS within the last two years.
5. There are certain number of seats for diploma holders and they should have passed diploma and have 3 years experience after MBBS in pathology/ forensic medicine/ microbiology.
6. Any candidate in-service must be sponsored by the competent authority and must be in a position to qualify for study leave.
