PDFLD is an advanced fellowship program of one and half years duration for candidates having master or doctoral degree and want to have further specialized research training in the field of liver diseases. PDFLD usually takes 2-3 years on average to be completed PDFLD takes about 2-3 years to be accomplished.
The program offers in-depth research experience supervised by senior faculties in the following areas: viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver diseases, liver transplantation, regenerative medicine, liver cancer etc. Research experience, advanced training in molecular biology, immunology, genomics etc are all part of the PDFLD course. The entrance exams that were considered acceptable for admission into the PDFLD program are - UGC CSIR NET JRF exam ICMR JRF exam, DBT BET JRF exam.

1. Minimum qualification – MBBS/MD/MS/MCh/DM with 60% marks from a recognized college/university.
2. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Gastroenterology or Hepatology after obtaining the post graduate degree and has good academic background.
3. Proficient in oral and written response and communication in English language + adequate computer literacy.
4. Age below 45 years.
5. Good communication skills, especially when it comes to working with people and the ability to dedicate time for work.
6. Intense passion of academic and research interest in clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic areas of liver diseases.
