The Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM) is one of the diploma courses that take 1-2 years and is designed with ideas such as financial management, security analysis, investment banking, financial accounting. Majority of the PGDFM courses take about 1 year and are generally arranged in two to three semesters with theoretical and practical sessions that involve internship. There are also some institutes that have designed 1 year post graduate diploma in finance and management or 2 years integrated MBA with finance major.
The entrance tests which are considered valid for admission to the PG Diploma in Financial Management course include CAT, CMAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, ATMA and state level tests. Some of the colleges grant admission directly through scores obtained in the bachelor’s degree or through the entrance test conducted by the respective institute. Some institutes participating in the lateral entry scheme also use work experience when offering admissions to PGDFM.
