Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science is one year diploma course in the field of forensic science. It covers both the academic knowledge and hands-on experience in several fields including criminalistics, criminalists, forensic chemistry, forensic biology, fingerprints, digital/ cyber forensic, and forensic psychology. The diploma prepares students for the roles of helping the police and law enforcement agencies to solve crimes.
The candidates who have completed their graduation in the science stream are eligible for applying for PG Diploma in Forensic Science. Accepted entrance tests include GPAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, and ATMA. Besides, many institutes also have their own entrance tests. In addition to qualification and entrance test scores, experience in the relevant fields may also be considered for admission.

1. The candidate should have completed their bachelor’s degree in science stream such as BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics from any recognized university securing minimum of 50% average marks.
2. Final year students of the bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply provisionally but must meet the minimum marks criteria set.
3. The admission to this course is not bounded with any age factor and any age group can join this course. This means that both the fresh graduates and those already employed in other organisations can apply.
4. Graduates from science stream or from any other stream can apply for the course provided they meet the basic graduation requirement.
5. While some institutes have entrance tests for their admission some of them consider the merit in the qualifying examination.
6. Some institutes may also undertake interviews before selecting the candidates for the program finally.
