Post Graduate Program in Public Health (PGPPH) is a full-time Masters level program in the field of public health and is of 2 years’ duration. This offers specialized education in fields such as epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, health promotion, environmental health, etc. Prepare students to meet the challenges of improving the health of individuals and the population. The program is normally for 2 years with four semesters when students are required to take core courses as per the degree program and other electives from the different fields or areas of their interest.

Most of the Colleges and Universities in India accept the following entrance tests for admission into the PGPPH programs: GRE, GMAT, CAT, XAT, CMAT. For admission to some institutes, the valid GATE score is considered while few institutes have their own entrance exam. Candidates with the prior employment in the public health may be relieved from the entrance test in some of the institutes.

PG Program Public Health Course Eligibility 2024

1. Any graduate from a recognized University with a minimum pass in the final examination in any discipline with 50% aggregate.  

2. Those who are in their final years of the bachelor’s degree program are also eligible to apply.

3. Some institutes provide admission to those students who have the medical background while some others also provide admission to the students who have the non-medical background. 

4. Some of the institutes may have preference for work experience in public health domain.  

5. CUCET/institute level tests can be followed by GD/PI or specific tests based on a particular stream and proficiency may also be given.  

6. Application forms may also include TOEFL/IELTS scores to determine English language proficiency of students from non-English speaking background.
